Getting here:

Sitting just off the M1 highway and in easy distance from several major airports, getting to Byron Bay (and Tooraloo) is easy.

By air: Byron Bay’s nearest airport is the small Ballina-Byron Gateway airport (BNK), 30 minutes drive away. It has several flights to and from most major cities on the East Coast of Australia. The nearest major international airport is Brisbane (BNE).

By car: Byron Bay is about a 2 hours drive from Brisbane, 8 hours from Sydney and less than one hour from the Gold Coast.

By bus: Several coach services arrive in Byron Bay daily, such as Greyhound, Premier, Brisbane2Byron and more. Byron Bay Transit Centre can assist.

We acknowledge and give our respect to the local Arakwal people of the Bundjalung Nation, whosse name for the area is Cavvanbah, meaning “meeting place.” Lieutenant James Cook named Cape Byron after Royal Navy officer John Byron, circumnavigator of the world and grandfather of the poet Lord Byron.
